Fast Weight Loss: Every Fast Diet Goal, But Is It Healthy?

Fast weight loss is the goal of nearly every fast diet. But is extremely rapid weight loss even a healthy goal? There are some health risks associated with weight loss that is excessively rapid. When you lose weight too quickly, you tend to get dizzy and lightheaded. Indeed, most doctors, fitness experts and nutritionists recommend that you lose weight at a rate of one to two pounds of fat per week.
Also, when you lose weight really fast, does the weight really stay off over the course of time? Studies seem to indicate otherwise. In fact, people who lose weight at that slower pace (of approximately one to two pounds per week) seem to be the people who are able to keep the weight off over the long haul. This is not to say that there are no documented success stories involving people who followed a fast diet and/or fast weight loss plan, lost all the weight that they wanted to lose very rapidly, and then managed to keep the weight off permanently afterward. So, yes, it can be done, given the fact that there are exceptions to every rule.
But for the most part, rather than striving for fast weight loss by using a fast diet or a crash diet or a starvation diet, it is generally considered to be much wiser and healthier to stick with the traditionally recommended plan of losing one to two pounds per week. And then, once you achieve your particular weight loss goal, whatever that goal might be, doing everything in your power to maintain that weight loss by eating healthy nutritious foods (like fruits, vegetables and whole grains) in moderate portions and by maintaining an exercise routine that you can stick with and that you enjoy as much as possible. So, to review, it’s certainly no secret that a fast diet has a lot of allure for a lot of people because of the fast weight loss that it can help people achieve in a very short period of time. But just because something is tempting does not make it the healthy or proper course of action.
